I've got a 221(g) green slip after applying a drop box.
And it says I need to reapply by personal interview with a new I-20 with a future starting date that hasn't passed.
So, I told my issue to the school and they emailed me a photocopy of a new I-20 of which starting date is Aug. 23rd. And they just mailed the original copy which will arrive on Aug. 21st.
Here is the problem.
If I wait until I receive the original copy of the new I-20 on Aug. 21st and do a visa interview on Aug. 22nd, then I will do the interview just one day before the starting date. Would this be a problem? Would the visa officer reject the new I-20 because the starting date is too close to the interview date?
But, if I do a visa interview earlier than Aug. 22nd, then I will have no choice but to bring the photocopy of the new I-20 in a visa interview. Is it allowed to bring a photocopy of I-20 in the interview??
