Appt in Mumbai

On VFS-usa.co.in, it didn't have anything for Mumbai. I just cancelled my father's as he was not able to make it for 21st this month. and system gave me an appt in Delhi. It wouldn't give me any appt in Mumbai, why? Why should it force someone to travel to Delhi for an interview. Does it make sense? I have tried twice already and I have only one chance now. SO Please advice what should I do.

Are you applying for visitors visa? I assume so because you have posted the question under Visitors Visa.

If the person is from Mumbai section, I don't see any reason to go to New Delhi. They would not accept someone from other regions.

I might be wrong in this matter. But I have heard that if a person can speak English fluently he can take an appointment anywhere in India.

The Same kind of exp. as posted in this thread, has occured to someone i know, he wanted to take an appointment in Chennai, but it was showing only Delhi dates. I thought the system was showing so, coz he selected English. When I asked him to select his language, it said No appointments avaialble in Chennai. So from this also I am assuming that If somebody chooses english, then whereever there is availability it will show up irrespective of where u are from.

Please correct me if I am wrong in this assumption.

Yes, it's Visitor visa and I have been trying to schedule an appt for my father online for past week or so and all it's giving me is New Delhi dates of JAnuary. It never happened before. I had successfully taken appts for Mumbai consulates in the past. Why it's showing only Delhi dates in Jan even though I am choosing state as Maharashtra? It doesn't make sense, does it?
