F-1 visa under OPT getting married

I just got married, and I have an F-1 visa, and am allowed to work until May 2007. I am a little confused with all the forms I have to file out, and in which order. Do I have to file out form I-130 to get an alien number first, and then the rest? Ehat if I don't have my tempporary green card when my opt expires??

Do you have EAD card ? It shud have A #, that does not change even if you adjust status.

hello Khushi and Lawrence,

You will need to submit i-485 and i-130 together. Please read the instructions on each form carefully and submit the package exactly the way they ask for (in order i mean). Make sure you make copies of everything you mail.

Lawrence, you still have time to submit your package. the only drawback is that you may not get your new EAD until June or July depending on your notice date. I suggest you do it now. so, after May 2007, you will not able to work until your new EAD comes in. it takes upto 90 days to get a new EAD but some people have gotten very lucky and got it under 90 days..

Khushi, you should be able to get a new EAD either at the end of your current EAD or before, that i don't know. but you can submit all packages together and wait for letter of receipt.
