OCI vs Visa

Hi,

I need to go to India for study in June. I was wondering if i should apply for student visa or OCI...wanted to do OCI so i don't have to worry about registrations. However, I am not sure if i have enough time to get OCI...I emailed people at chicago consulate but no answer yet...Please guide me as what I should do...

It would take 3 to 4 months at SFO but it takes only 4 weeks to get a PIO card. You could get a PIO card first and later apply for OCI while you are in India.
