Default Job Change with I-140 filed

    Hi All

Have just been introduced to this forum and there really seems to be a wealth of knowledge here.

Thought I would pose a query as well.

I have a I140 filed with my present employer (Jan 07) and was wondering when is the earliest that one can actually move jobs without disrupting the GC process. A lawyer told me that one can legally move after 6 months of I140 getting filed without disrupting the GC process.

Would the new employer now need to take over the ownership of the GC or would it now be independent of employment?

    Thanks in advance

    Chandra

The AC21 defining transfer is available only after 6 months of I-485 not I-140
