will the chicago INS office mail my Advanced Parole renewal

I need to renew my advanced parole which expired December 19th, 2002. I would like to leave the country on January 18th, 2003. If the INS returns my advanced parole by mail, my husband can mail it to me. If the INS demands that I personally pick up the renewed advanced parole, I will be screwed, because I understand it takes a month when the application is mailed. Will the INS require a personal pickup or mail the renewed authorization?

In Form I-131, Part 3 there is a place where one has to mention where AP should be delivered. It doesn't say anything of personal pick up inside US.

INS and my attorney have advised me, my wife should not leave country before at least AP is adjudicated. (INS says AP doc should be physically in hand before leaving.)

We had to cancel her ticket and delay trip by 3 weeks.
