OPT to H1 question

Hello,

I graduated in May 2007 and am currently on OPT, a company has filed for my H1 and has been approved.i believe my H1 start date is 1st oct, i have my opt till the end of may 2008, so can i continue working on OPT till May? or will my status change in October, the taxes on OPT are really low so i could save a lot of money if i continue working on OPT till May.

Also, since i haven't started working for the company already, if some other company gives me a better offer could i switch companies(can i apply or H1 transfer).I would not have pay cheque form the company which applied for my H1, so would it create a problem when i go for getting my H1 stamping?

You can either work on OPT or on H1, as you wish.

If you have never worked on H1 before, you can't do H1 transfer.
