Default Applying for GC for father

    Hello,

I am a permanent resident of US since 2001. My father is a citizen of India visiting me on B-Visa. My uncle (father's brother) is a citizen of US.

Is there a way in which I can apply for GC for my father?

    Thanks
    immifive.

No. You have to be a citizen before you can sponsor your parents for a GC.

How long will it take if my father's real brother (an US citizen) applies for my father's GC? During the GC wait period, can my father stay in US?

For siblings of US citizens, it takes 12+ years (family category 4, see http://www.immihelp.com/greencard/visa-bulletin.jsp)
During this time, your father would have to maintain legal status on his own, which is pretty much impossible. Also, he would not be able to visit, since most non-immigrant visas do not allow immigration intent.
