    Smile Advise for Mom's visa

Hi, I am planning to apply for a visitor's visa for my mom to visit me in Dec/Jan. Me & my husband intend sponsoring my mom. my husband is on a green card while i am on adjustment of status. My mom is a widow and is presently not working and my sister lives in the UK. no children in india. I hear its difficult for such cases. what are the chances.

Please advise if any of the following options would work . what are the chances.

    1. saying that my sister is in India or

    2. Should we get some other family friend in USA to sponsor her instead of us doing it.

    Tx
DO NOT LIE about your sister on the application form. What will you do if they ask for your sister's address and ph#? What happens if they verify and find out the truth? You are asking for more trouble with this.

Secondly sponsorship DOES NOT have any effect in a visitor visa. Even if the President of the United States is your sponsor, your mom has to demonstrate strong ties (binding) to her home country. There are no magical answers to this. Your mom will have problems demonstrating ties due to lack of compelling socio-economic ties back home, but that does'nt mean she should NOT try for the visa. Many people having similar cases have got it. It is upto your mom to convince the VO to get the visa.
