Question Name mistake in Immigration records - problem for SSN

With help from all of the posts here I successfuly got L-1 stamped and currently in US.

I went to SSA office today for applying for SSN and they said that they get their data from Immigration people and that they dropped a word from my first name (it was actually something like "FIRST SECOND THIRD" and since it's long, on the form I-94 I wrote as "F S THIRD". Today the lady at SSA counter showed me that the data on her screen shows "F S" as first name ( the last name is correct though).

I forgot to ask her where to get his corrected. My case is not a name change on the I-94 since I wrote correctly on the form as "F S THIRD". I have to tell them to just correct the entry in their computer systems. I'm thinking I should goto airport and speak to a CBP official.

    Any inputs appreciated.

    Default

Went to the SSA office, who directed me to the Immigration and Naturalization Office (with a map) who in turn gave me a map of CBP office. The Officer did not think using initials is a good idea, I did not know. Anyways he took my passport inside, attached a new I-94 and in it he just put one of my last names on the I-94 and he says it's fine since he cannot fit the remainig two names.

So instead of the "FIRST SECOND THIRD" that appears on the passport and teh Visa, all I have in Last Name on I-94 is "FIRST".

Two words from my last name are dropped altogether. And these will be missing in SSN and in others as well. I'm wondering if this will cause any problems.

    Unhappy

Still in a dilemma .. is there no way to accomodate full name? Or is it better to use word "THIRD" as last name and say that the other two are middle names? Coz in the visa and passport forms i do not remember seeing anythng that asks for middle names...
