Top part of my I 797 of my H1B visa approval notice is misplaced in company. Now, company's attorney is asking me to go to my home consulate that is New delhi with a attorney certified copy of I 797 than going to some other country. Although they tried asking for a confirmation from US emabassy in Delhi but have not recieved any answer.Some but not all consulate accept the attorney certified copy.I am not sure which one is New delhi. Recieving a replacement copy from USCIS takes 6 month and i had already made my travel plans of going to India in early Novemeber.
Looking for suggestions and advices on the situation.
