I am currently in US on L1B visa. My company is in the process of being taken over by another, larger company. What will happen to my L1 status? Will the new company need to apply again? The company that is taking over is taking on all liabilities of the current company.

If company assumes liability there will be no problem. However, your employer must file an amended petition informing them about the aquisition and change in corporate structure including Tax Identification Number.
