About FNU in US Visa...urgent... pls help

Recently I got US Visa, my Given name is mentioned as FNU and my full name is in surname field.

In my passport surname is empty, my surname and name is given in name field. I have not noticed it before applying for visa.

will there be any problem after I got to US?
how should I fill my name in the forms in US?

If I change my name in passport now, do I need to apply for visa again?

What happened to your case.I am also experiencing eaxctly the samething as in your case.
I got visa on 27/11/07.

Let me know whether u changed the names in Visa??

Hi,
My name and my Father's name is printed in Given Name section of my passport. The Surname section is blank.. As per US rules I filled the form for H4 Visa (my husband is on H1), stating FNU as my first name. I got my visa with FNU as my First/Given Name and Given Name(as in passport) as Last Name.

After coming to US i realize dat i will get my drivers license or anything with FNU as my first name.

Now the problem here in US is, they consider visa only.. They say they will not consider my name given as in passport because Indian passport is a foreign document.

where ever i go they check my visa and write or fill in the application, FNU as my First Name.

Is there any way where i can tell and change my name as My name other than going back and change everything in passport and get a new visa..

I am also facing the same issue with my passport and Visa.
Surname is blank in Passport and
FNU as Given name in Visa.

If someone has L2 visa and if their first or last name is printed has FNU in their passport, they can get a work around.

As many would know once you are in US, L2 holders can file for EAD. Once you get your EAD(in couple of months) and with that if you go to the DMV office, one need not even show the passport to the authorities there. Thus the FNU issue can be solved for them.. I am yet to figure out a way for people with other visa status-es.. Sorry !
