EAD denied for invalid reason?

So i received a letter EAD denied because: "Service records do not indicate you having a pending Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust, filed with this Service Center, prior to or concurrent filing of the Form I-765. Therefore, this makes you ineligible for employment under section bla bla bla"

Well, I do have a I-485 (dated June 26) filed prior to filing the EAD (Sept 17). Only thing is, the I-485 is filed in a different Service Center than the EAD. So, could this be a valid reason for denial?

The letter says there is no appeal to this decision. Can my husband's company lawyers file for an appeal?

If i go to the local service center, would they be able to help?

I am really annoyed at this whole thing. Its been 7 years since we started this process and now this. I am stuck in a career I hate, just because I choose to go through life legally to obtain residency. Sorry, had to rant

i;m pretty sure i did! i'd followed instructions on this page for supporting docs with the EAD application - http://immihelp.com/immigration/empl...-document.html

i havent been able to find much online about what to do after denied EADs. Would you have any idea if i can re-apply?

i do have an INFOPASS appointment i'd taken for an AP related matter, which i will now have to use for this EAD matter too it looks like. i do hope the officer there will entertain 2 separate questions

Hi whydoIbother: Appreciate you for the fact that you "choose to go through life legally" even though crossing the southern border has a higher chance of becoming a legal immigrant these days!

Did you contact USCIS? Were you able to resolve your EAD issue?

I'm in the same boat as you. My EAD get denied because of an invalid reason. When I sent an appeal to USCIS, they asked me to follow the instruction in the denial letter, which is nothing.

Appreciate your reply about how you handled your case?
