help for an iraqi student

Hello,
I am assisting a 15 year old Iraqi exchange student who would like to stay here and study in college. He fears for his safety if he returns to Bagdad. He has a friend who was tortured following a visit to the US.
We are trying to get as much information as we can for him about Visas and possible political asylum status.
We live in Minnesota.

I came here on a student Visa and applyed for asylum. I did it through a lawyer and he was really good. and there are some places that can help for free like churches, I heard that Catholic social services is really helpful. they do that a lot. you might find one where you live. let me know if you want to know more info.
