Thread: Ds-156

    Default Ds-156

In the sample DS-156, you said that if one answers "yes" to one of the
questions, that the visa will be denied. But, you see, my wife and I (a
U.S. citizen) married in the U.S. and made the mistake of crossing into
Mexico --just for the day. When we tried to cross into the U.S., and the
inspectors found out we were married (my wife only had the B1/B2 visa),
they took it away and told us she had to go back to Mexico and wait until
she could come into the U.S. legally. That was about 7 1/2 months ago,
and she has the appt at the consulate in Juarez, Mexico on the 3rd of May.
There was no deportation hearing or anything. Will her visa be denied
because we answer "yes" to the question that she was refused admission
    into the U.S.?

It is difficult to say. It all depends upon the consular officer.
