H1-B Stamping: Mexico

Hi

I find your website very useful and often have used in the past for
various reasons. The question which I have now is liltte tricky for me to
solve. I am planning to go to Mexico for H1-B stamping for the first time.
Now, if I get rejected I will not be allowed back into the country which
will force me to travel from Mexico to India(home country). In this case,
will I be able to take a flight/airline which passes through the US or UK.
Will I need a transit visa(I have heard various new reules if transit visa
even if I am on the same airport, but very confusing). I am not sure if this
option will work for me. Or I have to go to India for stamping as it is my
first H1-B stamping.

Note: I was on F1 visa 2 years back and got converted to H1-B, after
which I have not gone outside the country and received visa stamping.

Please advise me. Any help will be greatly apprciated

As you long as you were never out of status in US, you can go to Mexico.

If you are rejected, you can't go to India through US.

How about UK. I have heard there are now new rules which require one to
have a transit visa even if you are just inside the airport for a few hours.
Does that mean I have to travel only via Asia?

Please advise..This is very urgent

If you don't have a valid visa to enter US, you need UK transit visa.

Hello ,

I was granted my H1-B visa two days back from Mumbai Consulate India
and I received my passport with Visa. However, my visa has an
incorrect order in the names. My Surname column has my fathers name
and Given Name column has my first name and fathers name.

In my earlier F1 Visa this mistake was not there. Everything was as desired.

Note: In my passport the "Surname" is blank and "Given name" has all
the names in order as Surname Firstname and Fathersname. This is the
reason of the above issue.

Will this cause a problem to me while traveling to US. I am panning to
travel to the US on 1st of Feb. Please advise.
