I received my invitation letter for the Oath Ceremony, scheduled for
April 22nd.
For those who are waiting for the ceremony dates, here are the dates that I know of in Detroit, April 14th, 22nd, May1st!
It looks like they are scheduling the ceremony at 8 days interval!!
1. How long was the interview?
2. What kind of questions were asked? Were all the questions from the booklet given at the time of fingerprinting? Do we also have to read any other materials?
3. Besides the interview, what else were asked?
4. What documents are expected to be carried?
5. How many days after the interview is the oath scheduled for Detroit?
Appreciate if anyone can provide the answes.
Thanks,
I am sure there are lot of people who have attended interviews recently. Please share your experience and help others. While you browse and read ,please also take out a few minutes to respond, if possible.I have an interview coming up in few weeks, hence the urgency. Thanks,
I had my interview on Apr.16 but still waiting for the Oath letter. My wife had interview on the same day and her oath ceremony is scheduled for May 23rd. I am a little worried.
Is this normal? Any input is appreciated.
Regarding my interview, it just lasted for 15 minutes. Officer went thru my file and asked me about my length of stay during my recent overseas trip. I did carry 2 passport photographs, driver license. He asked me if I have photographs and made copies of my drivers license.
He asked me six questions about American History and he stopped as I answered them correctly.
He gave me the N-562 and told me that I would hear from them within 30 days. Its not 30 days yet.

Which means in Detroit, it is not necessary that both the spouses have the oath on the same day. And typically the oath takes place 4 to 5 weeks after the interview. Were all the questions from the booklet that was handed during finger printing? or there were other questions as well? Thanks again.
Somehow I didn't get the booklet after fingerprinting. Few days before my interview, I went to Youtube site and listened to "American Citizenship Test Questions and Answers Part 1" and Part 2. I think those are from the booklet. All the questions were from those 100 for both my wife as well as me.Originally Posted by Dinvrind

I came to know that somebody who had their interview 1 week after mine which was on Apr 24, 08 also are scheduled for May 23rd Oath ceremony.
That is raising lot of questions in my mind.
I thought all the reviews and background checks are done before the interview, but looks like not.
Anybody experience delays like this and if so how long were the delays?
I appreciate any input.
Thanks.
