A friend of mine is on H1B and his company is planning to terminate his employment. He checked with his manager and his manager is OK to grant a leave of absense without pay. If situation improves after couple of months then he can be back on the job.
Is this allowed by law ? Can he be on H1 and take a leave of absence for couple of months.

Thanks for your reply, can he stay in USA during his leave of absence or will he need to leave the country.
