Applying for F1 affect B2 visa?

Hello,

My brother has a 10yr multiple entry B1/B2 visa. He has I-20 from a school and applied for F1. The first time F1 visa was denied. However, his B1/B2 visa still stands good and nothing happened to it. Now, he is trying for second attempt for F1.

Are there any chances of his B1/B2 visa being Canceled?
If so, will this be canceled even if he is approved or denied F1?

No one can tell. If his F1 is denied for an immigrant intent, the possibility of B1/B2 cancellation is high as that also demands non-immigrant intent.

What was the reason for initial denial? If it is like low scores or bad finances, then B1/B2 could remain intact.

It depends on the VO.
