My lawyer recently applied for an H-1 extension. Though I have 3 years left with me I got only a six month extension. How can I rectify this? Please let me know. Any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance

If the LCA your company used to get your H1 is expiring in 6 months, you would get your H1 which would expire in 6 months.
I suspect the 6 month validity period is because your employer could only provide a contract for your work with an end client that covers 6 months.
As an H-1B beneficiary, you cannot really do anything yourself to fix this. Your lawyer/employer should find out if USCIS made an error or if the 6 month validity date is based on another reason such as the one I mentioned above.
