    Default I-864

    Hi,

I've recently got married with a young lady. Soon we're gonna apply for adjustment of my status. To fill in the applications correctly we need to put in information about her income from last 3 years.

From what I know if she wants to be eligible to sponsor me, she needs to make at least 17500 a year. Now...

my problem is that in 2007 she made 16500 but as for year 2008 shes going to make more than that around 20 000. Its more important how much she made last year or more important is her job right now and how much she's making hourly?

I personally made 30 000 last year but I dont want to claim that on papers because Im afraid Im going to lose my job. I dont know if they gonna send some papers to my work or something...

Any kind of advice is really appreciated.

    Hi Jungar,

Where did you find out about what her minimum income needed to be for the I-864? My husband is going to be sponsoring me and we are not sure where we find out how much his income needs to be in order to be a sole sponsor.

    Thanks

you can and you should petition for joint sponsor and use your income to meet the requirement.

if it is you who wants to get a green card, how come you want her to do all the work and your excuse is only because youare afraid you will be receiving mail or get fired. that doesnt make any sense!
maybe you dont deserve her afterall...

Default Depends if you worked legally....

Are you afraid of showing your income because you worked without permission???
