Default Student visa after marriaged based I-130 withdrawal

    Posting for a friend:

My friend was married to U.S. Citizen for very short time (6-8 months). U.S. Citizen applied for CR1 visa with I-130 for her. However, things did not work out between them, and they are undergoing divorce/annulment (not sure which one). I-130 was subsequently canceled/withdrawn (not sure after approval or before).

So, my friend wants to come to U.S. on a student visa now. What are her chances? Would fact that she had immigrant intent before hurt her chances?

is it pretty much deal breaker though? I mean would she have to be really lucky to get one now?
