Work On L2

Hi - I've a quick question and would request the active members of the forums to reply me back ASAP.

My wife has L1B visa and she is now in US, If I come on L2(L1 Dependent), I came to know that I can start working after getting EAD.

1. Now would like to know how much time will it take to get EAD, once I got into US?
2.Can I hold both B1 and L2 at a time where I can choose appropriate visa at port of entry with valid docs ? If I enter on B1, What will happen to L2?Is it still valid?As at present I would like to come to US on B1 and later after 3 months would like to enter in US on L2.

1. 60-90 days after applying for EAD.

2. Possible to have both visas and enter on either of them depending on the nature of your visit.
