    Default H4 - L1 - H4 - Is this possible

    Hello,

Here is my situation. I have got a H4 visa stamping in November 2007. Later on I got my L1 visa stamping thru my employer during the month of March 2008(H4 visa was not cancelled while I got my L1 visa stamp). Now I am currently working for my L1 employer(entered US on my L1). But due to some personal constraints, if I have to change my status back to H4 quitting L1 company , can I go to either Mexico or Canada and come back on H4. Or should I go for a fresh H4stamping.
I have gone thru couple of posts and I am assuming that I can go out of US and come back on my H4 visa instead of L1 visa since my H4 is still not expired. But can any one please confirm if my assumption correct.

    Regards,
    dpraprav.

Correct. You would need a new I-94 to reflect the new status.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.http://www.immihelp.com/visas/h1b/h1-visa-faq.html
