L1 extension questions.

Hello,

My L1B will expire in 18 Jan 2009.
The employer has applied for extension on Oct 22 2008.

I've the following questions:

a) What if I do not get my approved petition till 18 Jan 2009 ? How many days can I stay legally in the US ?
b) Suppose my L1B visa extension is rejected after 18 Jan 2009, by what date do I have to leave the US?
c) Suppose my L1B visa extension is rejected before 18 Jan 2009, by what date do I have to leave the US?

b. Immediately.
