    Default dropbox question

    Hi Immihelp

Thank you for this great website. I have a drop box question

My parents are eligible for dropbox(both are 60+). Reading from ur website it seems to me TTs service will take only Ds 156, passports, photos and fees in their office to send to consulate.
    1) At what point do I submit rest of the documents- ie both the visitor and sponsor documents mentioned in this website if they are not called for an interview?

    2) If none of the documents are required Can the consulate issue visa without looking at these documents based on application form alone when applied thro dropbox? If so why do I need to prepare any of the documents?:rolleyes :

    thank you for your reply.

    1. If they give visa, you don't have to send any other documents.

    2. They would be required if they need to go for an interview.

    Default drop box question

    Hi Immihelp

    1) If TTS is taking only DS-156,passport,fees and photos and no other documents , on what basis is consulate asking for personal appearance even if applicant is above 60 .There is nothing much they can make out from DS-156 form like the sponsor is the only child or something like that.

2)My mother-in-law is asked for personal appearance and i heard i can track reasons and details about drop box rejection from a link in consular website. Can anybody plz help me with this link.I couldn't find it.

    1. They do whatever they want for any reason.
    2. There are just 2 generic reasons, missing documents and potential immigrant. You can read about them at http://www.immihelp.com/visas/refusal.html too.
There is no way find out specific thinking that consular officer for your mother.

    Default dropbaox

    Hi veena,
I agree with u on that consulate cant make out anything out just from ds 156 when applied thro dropbox. then invariably they will call for personal interview and there goes our another 200 $. thats why I wonder why cant they accept some supporting documents along with the ds-156. Hence i am thinking dropbox may be a waste of money for us and quickbuck for them.

Unfortunately, you can't change the system. You will have to just work with it the way it is.

(I don't represent any authority in that system. I am just like one of you. My parents/in-laws also would have to go through same procedure.)
