CPT vs OPT

Hi,

I am confused between the relationship between these two terms,

CPT and OPT

If I use my CPT during Summer Break for 3 months will those 3 months be deducted from my OPT period ??

Is it necessary to get credit in my course for the CPT that I do in Summer Break ??

CPT time is not deducted from OPT time, but if your total CPT time exceeds 1 year you cannot get OPT. Keep your OPT for later.
