Default Can I sponsor for Visitor Visa for my Mom ?

I have chnaged status from F1 to H1B and have I-797 letter with all pay stubs. I want to aponsor my mother for a visitor visa. However the visa agent says that I should get the H1B stamped on my passport first. For this I have to leave the country and go to india and this can affect her chances of getting visa, if I make a trip right now.

Can the visa officer deny her visitor visa because I don't have H1B stamped on my passport ? (I have F1 stamped on it). I have all other documentation with the I-797 letter.

Do you recommend getting quick stamping from canada ?

You can't get it stamped from Canada.

It is not mandatory that you have H1 stamped in your passport.

Thanks for the reply. Have they totally stopped stamping in Canada. I have found people in this forum and other forums who have gone to canada for stamping as late as Oct 2003.
