Applying for PIO card in India

All,

I wanted to know if any one of you have applied for a PIO card from India. I currently reside in Pune and I need to do this for my son who stays with us in Pune but is US citizen by birth.

One concern I see is the address of MHA in Delhi which is mentioned in the above link as

Joint Secretary (Foreigners),
Ministry of Home Affairs,
Jaisalmer House, 26, Man Singh Road,
New Delhi – 110011.


In another link ie http://immigrationindia.nic.in/. It is mentioned as

Joint Secretary (Foreigners),
Ministry of Home Affairs,
Ist floor, Lok Nayak Bhavan,
Khan Market,
New Delhi - 110003.


Both the addresses being different , I do not know where I need to send my papers. Also wanted to find out any real life experience of going thru this process & any tips, tricks, gotchas I should be aware of .

Applying for PIO card in India/PUNE

Dear Rajesh Kanade,

have you done getting the PIO card from PUNE, I am also at the similar situation. I have to apply for PIO for my US born Son 5 years, The 5 year visa is going to expire in next 10 days. Should I have to go personally to New delhi or I should send the docs along with the fee by post to the MHA

Please reply as soon as possible.
Any body else also please reply if you have enough information.
