7th year H1-B extension. Parents visiting. Confused !

My 6 years of H1-B will expire on Jun 2004. My Company applied for Green Card (LCA) on May 2003 and their lawyer says that they will file for 7th year extension only after May 2004 (after 1 year pending with INS). However, my parents are planning to visit me on April 2004 based on my sponsorship. Will they have trouble getting the visitor visa, since my visa will expire soon after they enter US ?

Can anyone suggest some documents that can help them getting the visa in this case ?

You are fine so long as you apply for your extention next year.

This is not a special senario. Just ensure you send all the documents as listed on this site as for your parents visa interview if they do not already have a visa.

Thanks ! But won't they get the B-2 visa till Jun 2004, (when my visa expires) ? ... since I can apply only after May '04. They are planning to visit for 4-6 months ...

I also, have similar situation.
My L1B visa and I-94 is expiring in July 2008 and i am planning to apply for my parents visitor visa. I have applied for my I-94 extention but still not got approval notice or any other reply.

Should I wait for my approval and then apply for parents visitor visa or i can go forward with current I-94? Will it cause any problem getting visitor visa?

Please help me if anyone knows.

You can send the current I-94 copy and the extension receipt copy. Perhaps, a letter from you explaining your situation about extension in process would also work (I highly doubt the VO would ask for such a thing but just to make your parents feel confident).

BTW, this thread is way way old. The people are probably dead (i mean on the forum).
