Questions for Second Interview

my mom and dad will be going to consulate for second interview in about two week's time and I was hoping some body could guide me what questions to expect second time around. and how to answer the questions ?

Last time they refused visa and did not let my parents speak enough too...they refused after three questions, whats does son do in US, what does daughter do in US...and why do you want to go for 6 months ? They had appeared for the interview on Sep 5th and will be reapplying for an appointment on Sep 11th. Is this too risky to take appointments that are this close ?

also, how can you obtain a letter from senator ? ANy info will be helpful.
