applied thru dropbox ..asked to come for personnel interview

Hi,
my mom was here for 6 months from march to sept. she got only 6 months visa at chennai for only 6 months. as she was eligible for dropbox we applied thru dropbox this week, she got a form of 221(g) stating to attend for personnel interview by taking web appointment.

1)now appointment are not availble in other languages till dec end.. only available in english.
2)i heard these days they r more rejections for people who go alone... than couple.

based on above 2 reasons thought of applying for my dad also.. we are in delima what to do?.. any suggestion will be appreciated any body had same expirence and got visa in personnel interview? and what type questions will asked for this type cases?
