This has proved difficult to define in our case.
From 1966 to 1976 my finacee, a native of Italy, was an aerialist, performing under contract with various circuses in various countries.
During the contract period, she was domiciled with the circus, as it traveled from engagement to engagement, sometimes for a period greater than 12 months.
She maintained her Italian residence, and her mail was forwarded to the headquarters city of the circus, where it would in turn be forwarded to the current location that the circus was performing at.
We are trying to determine what, "lived in another country for 12 months or more", truly means. While she was domiciled with the circus, she had no residence address in that country.
Has anybody had some experience with this type of thing?
