Default In case of a 3 month stay ......

My parents are planning to visit the US very soon. They have a confirmed round trip ticket - their return is a little less than 6 months from the date of arrival.

If they are granted a stay of 3 months at the POE can they go to Canada (they have a visa for a single entry) at the end of the three months and return to the US requesting another entry at the POE?

    - Will this be considered an extension of stay?
    - Will it be possible to do this even if their passports are stamped "No EOS" the first time they arrive at the POE?

    Thank-you in anticipation.

They can NOT go to Canada and come back to get extension of stay.

Are you suggesting that it would be possible for them to stay beyond 3 months by filing for an extension? Since this is their first visit here I am a little hesitant about doing that. In which case is the Canadian route an option?
