Hiring an employee on Employment Authorization Card

Good morning.

I am hiring an employee with an Employment Authorization Card. Do I record the "A number" as their social security number? I am concerned about his W-2 being rejected at year end when we upload W-2's to the SSA website. Also, we bulk upload files to the SSA to verify social security numbers, will the A number reject or be accepted? If I do not use the A number as the social security number, what should I use?This is new to me so any help or direction would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

The person who has EAD should have social security number. If not, they need to get one. http://www.immihelp.com/newcomer/social-security-number.html

And you use SSN as SSN, and not A number.
