Hello Julia,



I am an Australian Citizen working in USA on E3 Visa. I have an enquiry about E3 Visa. right now i am working on Corp - Corp for an employer. I am looking for job security and I am looking for new job where i have some job security.

While job searching their are different categories of Employment types.

Contract - Corp-to-Corp
Contract - Independent
Contract - W2
Contract to Hire - Corp-to-Corp
Contract to Hire - Independent
Contract to Hire - W2



Among the above listed which are suitable and eligible for E3 visa holders. can you please provide me information on this. i am so confused and i am missing so many opputunities which they i got offer for Contract - W2 and Contract - hire.

Which employment type doesn't need sponsership? I have a sponsership now but due to this positions vendors are asking me if i need any sponsership in future once i say that i need in future , they are not forwarding my resume further.

i tried to search USCIS, DOL, DHS and google but couldn't fing any suitable solution. i will be pleased and thankfull if you can help me out.

Difference between contract and contract to hire is that in the later one they intend to hire you as an employee but in the former one, they don't.

Corp to Corp = One company paying money to other company to do the work. You would own one company and work for that company and that company would get paid to do the work.
Independent = You are working for yourself and the company pays you directly. They give you 1099 at the year end.
W2 = You are a regular salaried employee of the company.
