    Default Deschedule N400 Appt

    Hi All,

I got a notice that "due to unforeseen circumstances" my previously scheduled appt is canceled , and "sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused" . "any further action including a reschedule appt will be sent in another notice". This is with the Philly field office.

Prior to this notice, I got one to confirm my file is completely reviewed and I am to take my usa born child's birth certificate with me to my interview. This was a month ago.

    1. Has any one ever rec'd such a generic notice from USCIS? and if so, how did it get resolved?

The letter is so generic I am confused and anxious about this "descheduling".

I appreciate any response to my inquiry.

    Thanks

    S.

Update. Just in case anyone receives the unnerving "deschedule" notice-

After speaking to Customer Service and writing a letter for information regarding my appt, I rec'd a new appt date without any explanation as to the reason for the initial descheduling.

I am not sure what you mean by the "helpline". I called the 1-800 customer service line this morning and was told this sounds like something must have come up ( overbooked appts for that day, staffing issue) and that is usually why 'descheduling takes place". If you have a different experience please let me know.

I do plan to mail a letter to my Philly office for details regarding the cancellation of my appointment.

    Thanks

    Default Sucessful interview

Thanks to all who take the time to not just read other helpful posts but also to update the forum with their very very helpful and useful information.

I interviewed at the Philly office today. Interview took about 10 to 15 mins.
IO made me feel very comfortable. Tests questions included

Who is the gov of PA
    Who is King Jr
    Who was the first pres
What did the emancipation proc do
What movement led the civil rights (or something to that nature)

Written and reading tests were simple questions.

I now await my oath letter.

Began the process Feb 2009 with original interview scheduled for May 22, then got deschduled for today June 15 , so the process so far is 5 months.

Kudos to this forum and the tracker site as well, it has been very good to see other persons experiences.

    M.
