Hi, I went for the B2 interview on the 28th May and was rejected saying that I have too many family members in the US and gave me the 214b letter. The documents that I took were 1. my company letter, stating my designation (Manager)/ the salary / and for the embassy to grant me the visa as I have my leave. 2. The invitation from my father, stating that I was invited to spend 3 weeks with him and his new family and their passport and Green card copies (I am not sure what it means but the copy states that my father has E34 and his family F26 and F28). 3 My bank statements and fixed deposit. My salary statements 4. My birth certificate (to show that he is my father) 5. My residence visa of Italy (I was living in Italy for nearly 14 years) and came back to Sri Lanka to live here even though I have my resdence in Italy also (so that they will know that I do not have any intentions to live in the States).
The VO just checked my salary slips, my bank statements and my father's passport copies, that was all. When I mentioned that I have a residence visa for another country, she did not even bother check on it.
I am trying to apply again as I might not be able to travel next year (as I am hoping to get married in SL ... did not mention that), I asked my father if possible to get a letter from the congressman. will this help?
Can you please advice what other documents I will need to take?

. I guess because of my country situation, and since my father is a GC they must be thinking that I want to live in the States.
