  • Entry to US

I have a friend who is currently enrolled in a university in US with a valid I20 (been here for 3 years). He has gone to India for a vacation and returns in the second week of july. His visa expires a week later.
will that be a problem with his entry into US ,immigration and all?
some suggestion about what should be done in this case will be welcome and appreciated.

    I don't think so....

@pkahar: I don't think your friend would have a problem. His visa is still valid (if I understood your post right) when he enters back the US, so no, I don't think he would have an issues about that. And once in the US, he has no problem either as long as his I-20 is active, that is, he is registered as a full time student. But if I was your friend, I would be renewing my visa, just so that I can easily travel back home, and back to the US- never know when he has to depart due to a family emergency or anything.
    Good luck to your friend~
