H1 Visa Renewal

Dear Friends,
Here is my question -

My H1 visa got expired in Sep 2008. My I-797 was renewed till May 2011.
I havent travelled to India since my visa expiry date last year.
I happened to read the following on the US immigration website that

The following applicants do NOT qualify for appointments in the visa renewal category:
Applicants who have a U.S. visa that expired more than 12 months ago.


Am I reading this correctly and if so does it mean that I need to travel back to India before Sep 15th 2009 and get my visa stamped else I will not be eligible under the visa renewal category.
Please advice as if this is true, then I do not have much time to react.

As long as you have valid petition and supporting documents (like pay stubs), you can get visa. You're not renewing visa; you're just applying for a new visa. Don't worry.
