Its been 6 months that me and my husband are separated not legally divorced, My H4 visa expires in 2011. I am not in US but, I am planning to return to US for settling the things( to close my bank a/c, collect my belongs etc). I wanted to know if my H4 is valid ??? How do I check if my visa is still active ??? OR is there any chance that my husband might have got it canceled ???

Your H4 visa is still valid. But it is not advisable to travel on the H4 without knowing the status of the primary H1B applicant. You may have issues at the POE. Sometimes they will ask for a copy of the current approval notice of the primary applicant, employment verification letter (to prove that he is still employed), pay stubs etc to prove that the primary applicant is still maintaining his status. Applying for a B1/B2 visa and travelling on that is the safest bet.
