  • Indian Visa for child born here (US citizen)

    Hi,

We are planning to go to India for the first time after our son was born. He has got his USA passport and we are planning to go to LA for Indian Consulate Visa Camp next Saturday.

Does anyone know if it is necessary for the infant to personally be present there and are both parents required to be present ? Specifically, is it okay to just take all the necessary paperwork by father ? I would rather not take the newborn son in possibly long queue if at all possible.

I would also like to hear about people's experiences with the visa camps in general.

    Thanks a lot!

Even you dont have to go to camp, you can just send your son passport for indian visa through mail to indian emabassy.

Child does not have to be present. You can mail the application as well.
