Default Will my parents get social security benefits ?

My parents just recently got their citizenship. I had sponsored their green card and they stayed with us but never worked. I know we need certain points to be eligible for social security benefits but wanted to know if there are different laws for recently migrated citizens or senior disabled citizens. My father is disabled. Will he be eligible for disablity benefits ?

Your parents need to pay in 40 Quarters of social security to qualify for regular social security benefits. Four quarters in a year is satisfied by having approximately $4500 in earned income (income from W-2s or sole proprietor income or active partner income).

Few individuals are under the illusion that retirement will be easy, given costs of living and the faltering health of Social Security. It might be harder than many realize, as thousands of dollars vanish from retirement accounts in 401(k) charges.
