    Default N400 application questions

I have few question in my case for starting the processing and any help will be really appriciated:

My name is Long (it has first name + 2 middle names and last name).
On my GC initially they just added first name and last name.
So I filed for the correction (my drrivers license and my SSN card has my fulll correct name as my Indian Passport), with correction they added all my names without spaces in my first name field and last name in las name field. So my GC has all my names without any spaces
Like FirstMiddle1Middle2 in first name and Last name in last name field.
I travelled to India almost every year in last 5 years.

Now, i think, I am eligible to apply for citizenship from 5 year rule: so now I want my name to be as in My Indian passport with spaces.

    1) If i opt for name change in the citizenship application will that be enough?

In all my GC applications I mentioned my name correctly but they did not put the spaces.

    2) Also I travelled to India every year in past 5 years and the only whay i canget the dates is from my passport date stamps -- Departure stamps(India Stamp) and Arrival stamps from (Usa port of entry stamps) and each time i travelled for about a month. Summing all will be more than sixmonths will that be a matter?

    2) I have a ticket from 2001 (state inspection missing) and an accident from 2003 and a red light voilation in 2007- do i need to mention these in the application. For the first 2 i dont remember the fines. Last one i know.

    Waiting for your helpful suggestions.

    Regards

    1. Name change may delay the naturalization process(has to be approved by a judge I think), make sure you read more info on this.
    2. It's ok for the sum of your travels to be more than six months in the last five years. As long as your one travel doesn't exceed six months you are fine.

    3. Regarding the tickets, just mention the tickets in the past five years in the application and provide enough proof when asked for(in case during the interview)

    Thanks much Helpwithh1.
I am trying to find similar cases on the forums but no luck so far.

My drivers license and SSN card and Indian Passport has name correclty as
    FirstName MiddleName1 MiddleName2 Lastname

But GC they combined all like FirstNameMiddleName1MiddleName2 LastName.

Do i need to submit the evidence for the correct name(my Driverse license and Indian Passport and SSN card copy), with the N 400 application or at the time of interview?

Also one more question my SSN card still shows the: "Valid for Work only with INS Authorization" - I realized recently that we need to submit for SSN card correction. Will this be a matter for application process.

    Thanks much for your help

in N-400 form, you need to mention the name exactly as it appears in your GC. During your interview, they will ask you if you want to change name, then you can tell them that you want it to be exactly like your Indian passport. I guess it might take bit longer, but easy process.

You dont need to worry about SSN card, they dont ask SSN card anytime (not even in interview).

as per DMV tickets, I would suggest entering all the tickets that you have gotten since the day you started driving. In my interview, they asked me for all the tickets details.

    Hi Nags3_cvn2004 ,
    thanks for you reply.

I am from VA and I dont have record of 2001 State inspection ticket. How can I get info about it - as it happened long back.

I see you guys are very good organizers; that you kept log of all the info. Me except tax records I don't have any other info. How di you guys found you tarvel dates - I got them from my passport - from the arrival and departure stamp in India and US. I dont' know if there is any other way to look at it.

Do you know how can I get info about my tickets?

Also I have an accident in 2003 october - this also need to be reported? I don't have any tickets in this case.

Regrading the name change' if i undestand correctly: I still need to fill the info on the form asking
if i want to change my name and if yes give the new name etc.. But will also need to tell at the interview time right?

The question regarding the selective services is that valid for people who came on H1?

Default N-400 submitted with incomplete docs - INS has cashed check

Hello, I had sent in my N-400 application 2 weeks ago. Right after I mailed it, I realized that I had forgotten to attach the 2 photos and the copy of my greencard. I was expecting to have the application returned to me so I could refile with the complete documentation.

However, today I notice that my check for the $675 application fee cleared today. In other words, INS has cashed my check. What does this mean? Does it mean that my application has been accepted? When will I be asked to submit the photographs and the green card copy? I'm a little worried that this may have complicated my processing.

    Any thought? Thanks very much.

They may send you a notice for the extra information. Maybe you can mail another package with your application number that contains the extra documents.
Also, you can take the extra documents to the interview and present them if you are called for an interview.
