Minor passport - Affidavit from embassy - my experience

Friends, thanks to all the help i received in Immihelp forums :-) This is my experience at the Indian embassy in Washington DC where i went to get the minor passport/parent abroad affidavit

I took the following with me
1) Miscellaneous services application form
2) Drivers license - original
3) Lease agreement - copy signed by apartment leasing office
4) 2 copies of Affidavit, notarized
5) one photo stuck on misc. services app form
6) copy of passport first+last pages, visa page, petition document
7) passport original

i became a member of AAA for taking photos and getting the documents notarized. The fees is nominal ($120 per year) and all services are free.

I went to the embassy annexure building pretty early in the morning (8 am) The visa services counters were in the basement. They didn't open the doors until 9am. As soon as i went inside, i took the token and waited in the hall. The embassy staff didn't open the counters till 10.30 am. They called my number, went to the counter and gave the lady at the counter all my documents. She quickly verified it and asked me if i wanted the document by mail or collect it at counter. Since the collection date was next day, i asked for mail service. Total fees - $30 ($20 for signatures, and $10 for mail).

I had gone there on Wednesday and yesterday morning (Monday) i received a brown letter package from UPS :-)

I thank everybody in this forum that had answered earlier and also to my question for this.

I have seen your postings on minor passport re-issue in immihelp forums. I am also in same situation. I am currently in US and my family is in India. My son's passport is getting expired in next month so I need to apply for re-issue of his passport. Would it possible for you to send me the completely details and necessary forms please ?

I have seen your posting and i am in teh same situation.ME and my daughter ar ein US and my husband is in India.Did they ask the two parents passports/copies.Can i submit it only with my original passposrt.I cannot get my husbands signature.Can i submit the affidavit given in thsi site and get my daughters passport reissues.Pls reply me.I am waiting for some one who can help me .
