F1 to H1

Hi,
I am currently on F1 visa and my course is getting over in Dec 2010, My visa is valid till 2013 plus I have B1/B2 visa which are valid till 2018. An employer is planning to file my H1 on my bachelor degree this april. I wanted to know if I could go to India for 1.5 to 2 months between april and oct before my H1 gets approved?? Please do tell me about this and also if I will have problems coming back or not?

Usually if H1 petition is applied and approved for an Oct 1 start date, and if you travel out then you have to get an H1 visa in order to return in that status and start working.
If you want to return as a student or visitor, you can use your existing visas but you have to maintain whatever status you enter in.
