Default Out-of-country travel between interview and citizenship ceremony

I am told that they take your green card during the interview if you pass. Is that true? If so, is it still possible to travel outside the country between then and whenever my oath ceremony is scheduled for? Do I need to obtain any special documents to do so? Thanks.

Actually, they take your green card at the time of oath.

Therefore, as long as you have your green card with you, you can travel.
