Query regarding L1B Extension processing time.

Hi, My husbands L1B extension was filed by his company on March 15th and we atlast followed up and got the EAC# last week.
But still the status in the USCIS shows as "Intial review".
Can any one please tell me how long will it take for the process to complete in USCIS, as it is going to be a month.

Mostly by April end and even before you will get a reply....

To be practical, it can be vary. It can take 1 month to 3months.

Only in the case of premium, you can get the result within 15 days.

I am not sure from which date the time period should be considered.In my case the documents were sent on 24th Jan,2011,USCIS received them on 25th Jan according to the status on the website and the receipt notice was physically in my company's lawyer's hands on 3rd Feb.
In my view the notice date should be considered. If I assume that the notice date was 25th Jan then its been over 3 months considering its 28th April,2011.
Anyway, the lawyer has sent a query and got a query number from USCIS because USCIS did actually agrees that it has already been over 3 months.So far there has been no RFE received.
I really dont know whats going on? Anyone in a similar situation?

yeah , i am in the same boat. my visa extension was applied on apr 11th , its been 2 month almost with no status change (intial review) ... my colleague in the past used to get the decision in one month .
i guess the processing time has gotten longer nowadays , thats what i am hearing nowadays. no hard evidence though.
Do inform on this thread what happened regarding your query.

also wanted to ask , my visa and I-94 expiring on june 27 . if the status remains unchanged , how long am i allowed to work after that day ?

As far as the extension is filed and pending decision, you can continue to work in US until decision is made. No need to worry about the visa or I-94 expiry dates.

Since it is more than 3 months now, your husband can request his company to upgrade his L1 extension from normal to premium processing. The cost of PP is $1225 so that you will get the result in 15 days.

I am in the same boat too. The application was submitted to Cali Service Center and the online status shows Initial Review as of 1st April. Its about to be 3 months, though the processing time at USCIS says 2 months for Cali Service Center.

Did any of you got a decision yet? Do post in this thread when you receive a decision so that we can make out the actual processing times.

My Visa L1 b Extn ( Second Extn ) was filed on March 30 2011 ( Date show in the USCIS website ). By June 30 2011 I am completing total of 4.5 yrs in my L1B , Till now My second extn is in "Initial Review" Status , its almost 92 days passed on the Initial Review stage , not sure how long I need to wait for the result of my L1B Extn.
Also I am not sure whether I will just get extension for just 6 months

Ramaya, did you get the extension approval? I am in the same boat and waiting for the decision on my EAC#
