I want to sponsor my parents ,i have valid I94 but my visa is expired.Also petition process is not yet started.In that scenario can i sponsor them??

Also my relatives are US citizen : if they sponsor my parents will that work?

Please help me out..

Hi

You can sponsor for your parents even if your VISA is expired. It is valid to sponsor as long as your I-94 is not expired.

Im very confident about this because my friend recently invited his mother-in-law to the US in June 2009 while his VISA got expired in Aug 2008 and he had a valid I-94 expiring May 2010.

But i want to ask few things..
1) What was the petition status of ur friend when he sponsored his mother?

2)what if my petition is expired, can i still go ahead and send sponsor documents??

3) can we have any official link or document where i cam verify it and move on?
